EJ the resident Osprey has returned to Loch Garten RSPB reserve for her 15th season. Having travelled over 3500 miles in the last few weeks she is making the most of the fish from Loch Garten to refuel ahead of the breeding season.
The Loch Garten RSPB visitor centre is located a few miles from Ardach. You can learn all about the work of the RSPB and the fabulous story of the Osprey birds.
Keep an eye on the blog, in the link above, from Loch Garten and plan your visit now.
Ardach makes an ideal location for a nature holiday as we are based in the wonderful Cairngorm National Park which is home to a wide variety of wildlife.
Work is nearing completion on the new woodland paths in Dell Woods in Nethy. The paths make a pleasant extension to the existing path network in the woods off of Dell Road to the south of the river.
The paths cross the Duack burn which is the small bridge which you cross when entering the village from the Aviemore direction.
Contractors hope to finalise the final section, the bridge crossing, within the next week or two.
Here are a couple of pictures of our explorations of the new paths…..
